While there are mountains of excellent material out there, I have noticed some general shortcomings. First, it can be a struggle to find this material. Most engineers pull information from many different technical papers, articles, seminars, and books. It can take years to gather this material. Also, many articles assume knowledge that you may not have, so it can be difficult to teach yourself analog electronics. Furthermore, most literature provides the theory, but does not provide practical, measured or simulated examples. Finally, much of the understanding of analog electronics that I have gained over the years was taught to me by some really sharp guys. This “tribal knowledge” is passed down from engineer to engineer but is hard to find and is nonexistent in technical literature. TI Precision Labs is an online learning system that addresses the shortcomings of the current literature. We’ve presented TI Precision Labs in a logical sequence to facilitate the learning process. Our goal is to make it a comprehensive resource; your one stop shop for analog knowledge. Of course, this goal can’t be fully achieved since there is a nearly infinite amount of material. Nevertheless, we are striving to provide a deep resource and will continue to add material over time. We also teach using practical calculations, simulations and real world measurements. In fact, TI Precision Labs includes “hands-on” experiments that prove the theory. Shown here is an example of a setup used for the “hands-on” slew rate lab. I really believe that TI Precision Labs can quickly improve your understanding of analog electronics. This is a book of commonly used precision signal chain equations, tables, charts and circuits. In fact, we much of the content in the book came from TI Precision Labs videos. The Analog Engineer’s Pocket Reference is available as a downloadable PDF or e-book that can be viewed on your computer, smart phone or tablet – providing fast access to needed information.
